hi frank welcome to HT
what to put in depends on your budget how fast you wanta go is linked to how much you got!

Frank from the Dirty Duece. GL with the Civic. You will probably find swaping to a B series or D series motor will produce the fun and power your lookin for in a car like that. Not to pricy either

It'd be nice if you could give a budget range. That way we can tell you what engines would be in your range. But yeah, ZC's are pretty cheap.

you could get a first gen b series from a jdm crx for around 1700, then the motor mounts from hasport are going to be like 200

then thats not track racing.. thats street racing.. unless your gonna waste your time and money if you see some one on the streets who thinks your a weenie and you guys wait till track day and waste your money to run a guy 1 or 2 times.. but if i were you go for the zc motor.. good power and a good price and an easy swap..

hope that helps.. i dont mean to be an ***.. sorry

try out a ZC and then always can turbo it. Or you can use the Zc internals and build you one bad single cam. I would spree for an Si trans or the ZC one for the reason there geared pretty good for performance.
