Check this out.....

I bought Crower Titanium retainers and I only got 16, dont I need like 32 of them, lol??

4 cylinders - 4 valves per cylinder - 1 spring per valve - 1 retainer per spring = 16 retainers...

but wheni pulled out my valve train i had some retainers @ the bottom bigger opening ones

You re use those ones. It dosen't matter how heavy they are because they don't move.
