Default Wont start Battery,ABS,Oil lights on HELP

Ok, I try and start it and NOTHING happens. Lights and windows work but not even getting a clicking noise. The battery, ABS, and Oil lights come on. My SAFCII says 12.3 volts and I had Sears check the battery and was good. So I push started the car and it worked. I drove around for 25 minutes. Shut the car off and same thing as before - NOTHING. This time the voltage was 12.0 . Now I know it appears to be the alternator since the voltage was LESS after driving around but this wouldnt explain the car not starting right?? I checked the connections to the battery and was tight and clean. Strange thing is that the battery needed almost 20oz of water. So I refilled it. I couldnt even jump start the car. I am so mad at this point. HELP!

So your car is holding over 12 volts but it's not starting? What's the voltage dropping to when you try to turn the car over?
Obviously we need more info to diagnos the problem but to me it sounds like you either have a faulty ign switch, a bad ground, faulty wiring, or the starter is in need of some help i.e. replacement.

well the more times I try and start it the more the voltage drops. It dropped from 12.3 to 12.2 after a couple trys. Its almost like that button went bad that is depressed each time you put your foot on the clutch. I dont know. I checked the little plastic piece thats on the clutch pedal and its intact. Basically the car acts the same when you start it as when you dont even put your foot on the clutch.

check the wires at the starter. You should have 12V at all times on the large wire and 12V at the small wire while cranking. If you're getting that, it's likely your starter has taken dump on you. If you aren't then it's time for some electrical diagnoses.

Judging from your post seems to me that the contacts in the starter are bad..

I only have one question... Have you tried pushing your car off and "popping" the clutch??

If so, what did you SafcII read on the voltage while it was running??

yeah, I push started it and I cant remember exactly but I dont think the voltage was as high as normal. It was like 12.3-12.5 . Normally it is b/t 13 and 14. The thing is after I did this I checked the battery and it was really low on water...needed about 20 oz of water. I pulled the plug on the button for the clutch pedal and put in a paperclip to see if that was the problem but still nothing...however I didnt try it without the paperclip while the plug was unplugged. Anyone think it could be bad ignition switch?

well I had the battery tested today at Sears and it tested ok. strange thing is that it was really low on water before I took it to sears so I filled it up. Is it bad to disconnect ground while car is on???

Well your battery voltage is a little low, even at 12.2-12.3. And you had to add a lot of water, but at the very least with a dead/dying battery, you should get a clicking or evidence that the starter is loading the electrical system (dimming lights etc.). Didn't you say it wouldn't jump start either? That's telling me it's not the battery. Did you check the voltages at the starter like I recommended?

I think that you have a bad alternator, which has weakend your Battery.

Take your battery somewhere besides Sears and get it tested.

Even if you do have a bad battery, with your car running your voltage should at least read 13.0 Volts. (On your Safc)

Try this, I had a Bad Starter once.

When you try to start you car, Instead of turning it over normal, Try starting if numerous time in a row. (Really fast) Ex. Acc-Start...Acc-Start...Acc-Start.

If your starter has a bad connections this may cause it to turn over. Sometimes starting your car on a bad or weak starter can cause you to deep cycle you battery.

Trust me man, Ive been through every starting issue possible with my Teg.

Thanks for the advice Keith. I think I can rule out the alternator b/c I push started it again and this time the battery was full of water..anyways the safc2 was reading 13.1-14.1 while driving and whenever I would speed up the voltage would be near 14 and at idle it would be at 13.3 . So if its a bad connection to the starter it wouldnt make ANY noise at all right? Cause thats whats happening..NOTHING except all the lights working fine. Thanks again

Alternators dont start cars, the battery does, the alternator runs the stereo, etc, and charges battery

altenator also keeps the car on.. and no its not bad to disconnect the ground.. just test it to see if ur altenator is shot..

Yeah, That is what my SafcII Reads while driving.

Did you try that trick I told you about with your Starter??

actually I took it to my mech to get him to deal with it. ive been too busy with work and I just feel better with a pro figuring out whats wrong with it so we will see. so far he said that he cant read amps on the alternator and something about the voltage being too low on the alt as well. still not solving the problem of my car not starting. I was reading the Integra manual and it says that if the alternator is bad then the battery light will be ON when the car is ON. Now when I took it for a ride last 2 times the battery light does NOT appear when the car is on. So is the light absolutely going to come on when the car is on if the alternator took a *****? Is it possible to have a crapped out alt if the batt light isnt on? Im so sick of dumping loads of money into a car that almost 11 years old. Thinkin of gettin a new truck and then I wont have to deal with this sht anymore

OKAY - it looks like the problem has been found... that little plastic thing that hits the switch on the clutch pedal. Had no idea there were TWO of them on there and when I thought I had checked that I was checking the wrong one ( its actually the one on TOP of the clutch pedal. The clutch pedal had to be removed from the car to replace the part. What a pain in the @55.

The fact that you are able to drive around for 25 mins tells me right away that the alternator is fine. If your alt was faulty you wouldn't get that far because it wouldn't be charging your system as you drive... it would just drain off the battery.
Don't know why no one hasn't mentioned this already. Hope that your clutch peice was the prob.

Man that is true. That IS funny no one said that. Well it was the plastic piece on the clutch pedal - the upper one (there are two of them on the clutch). I was charged for an hour of labor so it was worth it for me b/c you cant even see the piece on the clutch pedal (the upper plastic piece) and the clutch pedal had to be removed. for my mech and thanks to all that responded! Now Im a little wiser on this issue.
