Default 17s on civic question....suspension, etc

if i dont lower for the time being, and i roll on 17s on my civic coupe. will this effect my shock spring suspension (its stock for now). also, when i get ground controls and aftermarket shocks (KYB or Tokico Blues) will this hurt the shocks when i lower it like 2 inches? becuz i know with stock shocks and lower, my shocks will go very soon, but how long does aftermarket shocks last? thanks!

Your car will be fine running 17's with the factory suspension. If you choose to lower it, it would be a good idea to pick up some aftermarket struts/shocks. I got away with running the factory ones with Eibach Pro Kits (1.3" drop) for almost a year before my shocks started to go. Do it right the first time and save yourself time and money... trust me.

Go for suspension before rims. Cars with stock rims that are lowered look alot better than a car with no suspension work and bigger rims...reminds me of a jeep. I saw a 5gen prelude with 18s...no suspension work done...horrible.

so later when i get some coilovers and i wish to sometimes drop it and when not, it will be at 0"-1", will this rub more than a stock setup?
