Hi, i have a 2000 accord coupe V6 (automatic trans).. Sometimes when i press the brake i cannot take the car out of "Parking".. When i went under the dash board i noticed that the little push button on the brake pedal was not popping out when i press the brakes.. I have to play with that little switch so it can pop out. Can someone help me and tell me what this piece is called. Also, how can i fix this problem.. Is this piece expensive?

But it sounds like you need a new brake light switch.

 

How much is that switch?? anyone know how to remove it?

You might want to make sure that's what it is first? Do the brake lights work when it's acting up?

 

i know its that piece because the actual push button does not pop out.. it gets stuck in there when i press the brake. i tried putting wd40 and it still gets stuck inside..
