Rattling noise coming from the engine
I have a prelude 98 non SH. Everytime I hit 2500 rpm on every gear, I hear a really loud rattling sound coming from under the hood. It only makes that sound at 2500 rpm, but when you pass that or go below it, the sound stops. If anybody has any idea of what is causing the sound please let me know. Thanks!

Your aftermarket intake is rubbing on something, and at that certain RPM, the motor vibrates in just the right manner to cause the sound. I have had the same thing.
What is it with Preludes and 2500 rpms???!?
I use to have that problem in with my H23, and at first it was caused by a broken DC Sports header bracket, then it was the exhaust heat sheilds, now my exhaust only sounds raspy at 2500 rpms.
Anyhow, check your intake, exhaust, header, and just look over the engine bay for possible causes.....it could be a lot of stuff.

Yep I had the same noise from the oem support bracket that bolts to the megan header support underneath the car. Turns out it was cracked. I think it vibrating when it hit that engine speed. I took it off b/c the welds on the megan support bracket kept braking anyways. Noise is gone.
