Default 232 the wheels on a stock k20???

theres a guy claiming to me that he makes 232 with a stock rsx s motor with kpro tuneable ecu. everything else is stock. says he pushes 232 to the wheels? is that possible? i dont know too much about k20's but that pretty empressive if it is. just want to get you guy's 2 cents.

Erm I've heard of pretty good horsepower gains with just a retune on the K-series but not sure on exact numbers. I guess it's feasable.

Supposedly the K-Series are very different from motor to motor. One will put out 180whp while another will put out 205whp... they are very good and restricted motors from the factory. Its definatly possible, especially if its a K20R...

I coulda swore I read an article in one of the tuning mags where they got an extra 30-50whp just by tuning the ECU...maybe it was cams...but pretty sure just from a tune.

Hey,

i have intake and exhaust and headers are on the way....now when you guys say hp increase with a tune is that in the ecu or a regular tune up?? i have a bout 60 000 miles on si and wondering is it worth getting a tune up?..or should i be looking into what a tuned ecu is going to do?..can i tune a stock ecu my self or is it a ecu that i have to buy then bring it to get tuned?...im a little confused..some help pls...

I also find this very hard to believe. With mild cams and bolt on's I can see that happening though.

Thats about right. Here in Europe the odd Civic Type R will get out an extra 10hp at the fly after about 20,000km

All companies state that there is a +/- 5~10hp difference depending on the miles it's done, weather conditions etc. etc.

Even if he had a strong 205 whp motor, he would have to gain 13.2% his horsepower to hit 232, and I really really doubt he can pull that off through tuning alone.

When I say +/- 5~10hp I'm talking about at the flywheel. I agree 13% gain is extreme with just tuning for a NA motor, but then again I've heard of quite a few "tuners" who have dynos putting out false numbers to satisfy customers.

I've only seen gains like that with turbo cars.

why doesn't he show proof? maybe a video of him running a 12 or maybe some dyno sheets, oh well if people didn't bullshit there'd be nothing to talk about, had he showed proof this post would have never been made, at least he gets good kudos for a good story.

One thing you should have learned by now about people in this scene, they lie.
