Well, after the little mishap that it was involved in, my ITR has been sitting in my driveway. I've went out and periodically cranked it up to let it run for a while, but nothing much more. It's now come time for me either to fix it, or sell it.
To save myself from a long story (I think I posted about it a while ago, you can search if needed), my R got hit by some rocks on the interstate. The damage is cosmetic only, and is going to require repainting the drivers fender, hood, front bumper, and there are some small nicks on the drivers door, a piece of plastic molding, and the roof (those nicks are VERY minor). The windshield is also in need of replacement.
Shortly after this happened (I drove it around in this condition until I got my new car), the clutch went completely out. I have yet to fix this either.
Summary of car: 2000 ITR (Pheonix Yellow), all stock except Apexi N1 exhaust, and Eibach Springs. Motor is 100% virgin, but has 120k on the odometer.
What would be a fair asking price for the car as is? And do you think it would generate any interest the way it sits right now? I'm thinking it might be a great car fro someone wanting to save a few dollars with the intentions of doing a JDM front end in the near future (considering all the parts needed to be painted/fixed are the same needed for the conversion).

It's really, really hard to come up with a price for a situation like this. When you have a car with typical mileage and typical condition, there are usually bunches of similar cars out there and people have a pretty good idea of how much one is worth (for example, a 2000 ITR with 75K miles in good condition). But each time there is a major issue, that makes the car less desirable, but it also makes the car unique, in that you're not going to find a lot of sales of similar cars to compare it to. And you have THREE major issues (mileage, body damage, mechanical repair needed). Any one of them could reduce the value of the car by several thousand dollars. All three, well... it's my opinion that no one here can accurately tell you how much someone would be willing to pay for your car. $5K? $8K? $11K? That's a pretty broad range, and there's no way to know for sure until you actually put it up for sale.
If I were you, I would see if you could get a free/inexpensive estimate for the body damage and for the clutch repair, just so you would know how much it would cost IF you decided to make those fix(es) before selling. Especially the clutch repair; a car that runs is always going to fetch a lot more than a car that doesn't. Once you decide whether to make any repairs, do them, and then I would probably put it up for sale on an auction site like eBay.

good suggestion ken..
take the private party retail value and then subtract all of the repair costs.. then subtract a bit more for them having to do it all and not you and there you have your asking price..

I'd say fix it with a jdm front end and keep it.
Or if you're intent on selling it, then get it back to sellable condition (stock) and get out.
I will be removing my toda clutch soon for something more agressive that'll keep up with my turbo. So maybe that could help you out if you just need to put a clutch into it to sell it...

I'll let you know what the insurance company thinks mine was worth because I had similar miles (134k) but no mechanical or cosmetic issues.
I should settle with them sometime next week.
