Attention all Canadian R owners!!!!
I can't believe how many R's are being stolen in the States. I think I counted at least six or seven in the last week alone. I'm wondering if this is as big a problem in Canada. If you are reading this and you know of any Canadian R's getting swiped, could you post up and let me know. I was mulling over the idea of putting some Xtra security on my car but now I think I will do it for sure. I mean @ this rate, soon there won't be any cars left to steal in the U.S. and the theives will have to make the trip up here!! (and we can't buy a 9mm @ the 7/11 up here, so how are we supposed to protect ourselves?)
Maybe I should just go out and buy a civic and put all my R parts in it...stay one step ahead, LOL!

Vancouver is bad.
I know of 3 guys myself that have had their car jacked. One guy got hit twice (two Type R's).
Protect your **** and don't "advertise"

there were at one point 6 stolen/stripped itrs sitting at the local wrecking yard piled up in a corner
i remember one at one point last year they were disappearing at a rate of 2 per month. someone i know has a gf who had hers stolen last year too... the last time i checked they still haven't recovered it
there have been 2 attempts on my own. the second time was right outside where i live. i'm pretty tired of this too....

Ty boomerang, is just like Lo-jack in the state, recover your car pretty fast, my friend had it on his S2000 and got it back in an hours. around $600 but is worth it. This is the only system in Toronto taht will able to track you car down.

This crap is getting out of hand. I really like my car but this is making it not worth owning. If my ITR got stolen, I don't know what I'd get to replace it.
I love Hondas but so do thieves...grrrr.

I've mentioned this in another forum but maybe one of you guys has, or knows of someone who has the knowledge to construct a defense system exclusively designed for the ITR. I'm sure it would take some time, and money but think about what you would be doing for the TypeR community. I'm personally dont own one but damn, I'm getting tired of reading about someone getting theirs stolen every other week. Actually maybe you can get (beg for a really long time) a government agency to fund a project going...kinda like a "save the rainforest" thing, except it would be like "save the ITR from going completly exstinct" project. Now that would be creative.

It is bad in T.O... I think the best form a theft deterrent is a multi-layered approach
- LS door handles
- Hidden Kill Switch install
- Cover up SIN on front windsheild
- Alarm (of Course)
- Club on S.Wheel
- Auto-Lock on clutch pedal.
And watch were you park it.

I don't stress about theft, life is too short to be worried all the time. If I loose my R, hello EVO VII.
Theft is all over....here in TO it's getting worse all the time.
Just the other day I had a guy approach me askin if I need any parts for my R.
No doubt off a ripped R...
Also..about a month ago I was at Sherway Acura talking to the head of parts, and he told me that they sold 16 01 R's and 14 of them had been jacked in a year.
The answer.....dont leave your ride outside, wire in a fuel pump cutoff switch(dont forget to hide it) and dont be cheap on your alram...I personally went a compustar system and havne't had any problems yet.

hope they have a gun permit! Here in Tx. we do!
As someone mentionned earlyer, Montreal is real Bad, as Quebec is the worst province/state in north america, when it comes to car theft...
fortunately, I haven't got any problems yet, but I hardly ever park in a public area and at home it's always in the garage...but I had funny looking cars come up in front of my house a couple of times...even some thugs coming straight in my girls friend's drive-way to see the car.
If you don't like attention, don't get a R
