I just picked up an EP3 and was trying to find a good place online to get either an HFP or CTR body kit. I have searched on here and ephatch.com and haven't had any luck. Any help is appreciated.

 

showstoppersusa.com sells the ctr ep3 kit and i heard it fits well but try looking at your honda dealer for the HFP kit

 

there is nothing HFP that i consider Factory performance. its all lame over priced stuff. such as the a spec parts from acura. and i work for a honda dealer.

Try these guys if you decide you like the HFP look better than the Early CTR look.

I think the early CTR looks better, and "Early CTR" won our poll a little while back (https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1366292), but to buy the parts to turn your car into "Early CTR" is probably going to cost you $2100 at best (plus rebar).

The "HFP Look" you can get done for a lot less, especially if you just go w/the front and rear spoilers.

i believe the HFP is, aestheically, a bit heavy-handed. i think it fits the style of the usdm, but as a designer, i feel the styling is a bit tacky and poorly executed. ymmv.

Agree completely.

However, the rear HFP wing is sitting in the foyer waiting for me to get around to installing it, just because it was easy to get already the right colour and because we know it'll bolt right up w/out any fitment problems as with the UK/Euro CTR wing.

And I find myself thinking about the front HFP spoiler just because Honda claims it is aerodynamically effective at high speeds and because the total purchase price of the front and rear HFP items is so, so much cheaper than doing the UK/Euro bumper conversion.

I might even end up with the front and rear HFP items with (are you sitting down?) mud guards instead of the side pieces.

 

well, i'm willing to give up my mud guards for a set of the oem '04-'05 side skirts. the guards would look nice on a black car.

i found the width of the guards accentuates a 225 tire quite well.

 

i suppose i could justify the HFP fascia if i knew about where (what speed) the aerodynamic effects became viable.

it would be nice if maybe it had reliefs to route ducts to the front rotors.

That makes me consider the Mugen lip (the first version, that is).

I'm having the same trouble deciding, too. If I got the replica USDM Mugen lip and USDM CTR sides & rear, I'll probably have to deal with fitment problems. The HFP body kit is so much easier to get, and it would fit great, but I'm not sure if I like the styling enough.

A Honda friend in California says that there is a discernible aerodynamic advantage with the HFP front spoiler from 45 miles per hour and up.


That is blkephatch's car from another thread. I dunno. I think the HFP spoiler's kind of growing on me.

Doesn't look bad from that angle.

 

Is that front kit for a 02-03 civic si? Honda told me that they didnt make the HFP for an 02

The HFP body work was not produced until MY 2003, so it's not listed for the 2002 model year.

I know people personally who have affixed the side pieces and the rear hatch spoiler on their 2002 EP3. I do not know anyone personally who is using the HFP front on his 2002 car, but the 2002 nose and the 2003 nose are identical so I don't know why it would not work perfectly.

 

Is it true you can't use the HFP kit with factory fog lights?

 

I wouldn't see why you couldn't as the fog lights are inside the bumper where as the front spoiler kit is attatched to the outside of the bumper.

I still don't like the front bumper spoiler (HFP). It's those damn side lenses! JDM for me!

OK. But JDM = $2100 and no aero advantage over USDM nose, and HFP = $700 with aero advantage.

 

02 bumper will work on HFP kit.
And Foglights also work.

 

$700 for the front and rear fascias, or the whole kit? (skirts, wing incl.)

Front spoiler and rear wing. I don't see any point to the side pieces. I'd probably be really tacky and keep my mud guards on. If it looks really dumb I'll do something about it, but my instincts tell me it'll be fine.

By my logic you could cut the cost of the JDM/UK/Euro conversion considerably by buying the USDM HFP rear wing and just the CTR spoiler, and front and rear UK/JDM bumper covers.

I guess you could even do w/out the rebar if you're willing to take the risk.

That'd bring the JDM/UK conversion to about $1600. Still quite a bit more than just doing the front and rear HFP spoilers.

 

well, there is always the pvc extrusion/racer tape option.

 

Or the leave-the-damned-thing-alone option. Always very economical.

another reason to abandon the diet and exercise: more driver weight=better stability at speed.

 

i think both look equally as good, but if you want factory fit and quality, go with the hfp kit
