Default Passing New vehicle inspection in Texas

Currently running the T1R catback with testpipe and comptech header. It is almost time for my inspection, but I know they recently started the new emissions testing here. Does anyone have any details on what exactly they are doing?

And for future plans, would aftermarket cams prevent me from passing. I'm willing to put the stock cat in for each inspection, but i'm not willing to swap cams.

Thanks

If your car is 96 or up, and you have no check engine light, you should be fine. They plug in the computer, scan it, and if no codes, you get a sticker.

What about airbags? Do they come up on the computer if the airbags are out?

Hmm, I'm not sure about the air bags. I don't think they do though.

ABS light should cause no reason for them to fail you at safety inspections. Your brakes still work, they can just lock up.

i think you'd fail cause they'd make that assumption. For any light thats not normally on/off, most likely you'll fail.

Well, I got my inspection in August, so I have a year till I have to really worry about it. I hope the airbags don't cause a problem though, both of mine are out, including the whole SRS system.

correct. any light on the dash will cause a failure, including ABS and SRS lights/codes.

I don't think so. It is an emission check. For the safety inspection portion, ABS will not matter, and I'd be willing to bet the SRS doesn't matter either. I'll as my dad because my mom's accord has had her SRS light on for over a year, and I know its passed inspection.

Considering its technically illegal to remove the airbag/srs sytem... I'm fairly certain they'll fail for it.

Ok, just confirmed it with my Dad, the car will pass with the SRS light on.... at least my mom's accord passed with the light on two years in a row.
