Can you drag with an ATS 4.9 final?
If any of you have taken your R with a 4.9 final to the strip on stret tires how did you get your best times?I mean I have Kuhmo Ecsta's and I know they don't have the greatest traction but my launches are pitiful?I can't seem to get traction launching in 1st or 2nd with the ATS.Yeah I know it's for roadracing/autocross but I thought that I could get descent times at the strip.
I would think it would be detrimental for a good 60ft. time due to the shortened gearing caused by the ATS. With the stock motor and tranny you might even finish in 5th gear. I'm not too familiar with drag racing dynamics so please correct me if I'm wrong!
If draggin was the thing you were doin, I'd invest in some super sticky drag tires and have at it.
I can't imagine the FD making your times worse after you solve the traction issue. I do understand it though, But, what if you launched at lower RPM with the sticky tires?

I thought this was interesting https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=135229
I had no traction problem with Dr Poofaces car.... Just didn't rev it so high..
Got about 5 or 10 feet of wheelspin... Very acceptable for a car with no bottom
end... Launched every bit as hard as a stock R.
