A few ?'s concerning LSVTEC
My friend has a 98 Integra LS with the B18c1 head on it.
He has a few problems with it though.
First of all, he's throwing 3 CEL's on it.
Code 20-Electrical Load Detector
Code 23-Knock sensor
Code 45-Fuel system too lean
Here's my questions.
1.Are these normal codes that you guys run into with the LSVTEC setup?
2.Will any of these codes cause Vtec to not engage?
3.Is it possibile that he's not getting enough oil pressure to the head?
4.Should he be running the b18c1 oil pump on this setup.
Is it the same as the ls oil pump?
He's getting a loud ticking sound if he's over 6k rpms.
He's already done a valve adjustment on it as well.
Any input you guys have on this would be greatly appreciated.
thx, Chris

Use an ECU that doesn't have knock sensor capabilities as the LS block doesn't have a knock sensor. In fact get a chipped P28 and it should take care of codes 23 and 45 (assuming you get a suitable program). You may have to bust out the manual and a multimeter to get rid of the code 20.
