Default what HP to get a DA in the 12's?

Just what the title says. How much horsepower do you guys think it will take me to get my DA into the 12's?? I'm planning on going turbo but not sure if I should go with a B18B or a B18C. If its like 220-240 I'll go with a B18B but any more than that and I'll go with a B18C. I know it has alot more to do with than just HP so its kinda a vague question but if anyone can give me a general idea it will give me a better idea of which motor to go with. Dont want a B18C if I dont need one.

And if anyone wants to know why I want to hit 12's its because I have a buddy with a Rustang thats in the 12's and I'm sick of him talking **** all the time. Even though I can take my buddies Mustang on a road course, I dont have a chance against it in a straight line.

dont waste ur money on a B18C, u can use that money to make ur current engine alot more reliably and to handle more boost.

Sounds about right. I'd say more around 275-300whp.

Will you be running these 12's on slicks? Or on street tires? Makes a pretty big difference. If you're running slicks, boosting a stock 1.8L block 8psi would get you mid to high 12's. I'd estimate you having around 220 - 240whp or so with that. If you want to use street tires, you'd need a lot more. Slicks pretty much drop your ET's by a full second.

Remember, you'd be racing on a street (i.e.: uncontrolled conditions, uneven pavement, etc) against a RWD car that has a lot more torque. It's gonna be tough.

Dam those f#*kin RWD's. I wish they would have made DA's w/RWD. Now that would be awesome

domestics have a really nice time hooking up so he probably take you off the line and you catch up and pass him after he steps out about a car length or 2 off the line

I'm looking to hit the high 12's with slicks. As of right now I have a B17 tranny with a B18A that I run low 15's/high 14's. But my motor needs to be rebuilt before I go turbo so Im looking to pick up a JDM B18B or B18C. You guys think I could safely boost (not quite sure how much I'll need) to around 275whp on a stock B18B?? I know you can on a B18C, but what about a B18B?? If I can I think I'll go with the B18B so I can have more $$$ for my turbo set-up.

So you guys think 275 to the wheels with slicks and my B17 tranny will get me in the 12's?? Should I maybe change my tranny?? Ive been told yes and no from lots of different people. So would it be ok to stick with my B17 trans with that much HP?? I have my old 92 LS tranny sitting in my garage that I could either throw in or put some new gear sets in. What do you guys think??

Oh, and by the way my DA is sitting at about 2200lbs without me in it so its a little lighter than most.
