Default its been sitting for a while

yesterday i brough my sister a 90 da, i thought i was getting a good deal but i ran into alot of problems.

it cranks but has a hard time starting, i figured cuz it was low on gas but i dumped $10 into it. it started to run good but then after 10 mins it dsies. i figured it was bad gas from sitting. i cam to find out one sparkplug wire was ripped but was still working pretty good. i removed the plugs and one plug had oil on it. so i cleaned and regapped all the plugs and put them back in, no real difference. the car dosent smoke when running but does kinda sputter, i can hear popping from the exhaust when it is about to die. i am thinking maybe the timing is off, the lady said she just had the timing belt and water pump replaced. but if the timing was off wold it run pretty good once started? i removed the fuel lines from the fuel filter and fuel is comming through. after running the car for another 10 mins then it shutting off i removed the spark plug that had the oil on it. the ingitor part was still dry but there was some oil on the threaded part. so i figured all the cyclenders are good but i still gotta compression test them. i dont want to waste money on tune up parts of its going to have major problems. my last thought was maybe the distrubitor is bad

what do you think?

Yeah, i would definately look at the dizzy, because if its having problems staying running, that might be part of it.

What you could do to test the injectors, is take a long screwdriver and touch the metal to the injector and then listen to the clicking, if you hear it click you got a good injector.

Also to see if a cylinder is failing, just to test, yank a plug wire from it while the car is running, if the car almost stalls and dies, you know the cylinder is working, if nothing cahnges in teh idle, you got a bad cylinder.

The oil is on the spark plug boot, correct? If so it soundls like youy have a missing or broken spark plug seal. All it is, is a round piece that fits under the valve cover and creats a seal. It is a real easy fix
