Differences between LS/GSR/TypeR trannies?
Do all these transmissions use the same housing but just shorter gearings in the GSR and Type R? Do they use the same materials or have the same qualities, like do they do anythign special to the transmission internals? Are all these transmissions completely swappable btw all integras of the like generation?
the only diffrence is gear ratio's-"final drive" and the typeR should have LSD, unless its JDM then some SIR/GSR models had the LSD stock I think? I would have to look it up again!

This is only partly correct.
The gear ratio's AND final drives are different between the LS/GS transmissions (from the B18B motor), the GSR (from the B18C motor), and the Integra Type R (from the B18C5 motor). The transmission from the Civic Si (B16A) is also a B-series and is generally included in this discussion. It has the same ratios as the Integra Type R, but the USDM version doesn't have an LSD.
A good informative site on the B-series tranny is: http://www.allmotorhonda.com/t...s.htm
The materials of the internals of one are not any better/stronger than the other. Most of the internals can be swapped between each other, but certain gears match with only certain gear types. For example, it isn't an easy task (well THAT easy) to put an Integra Type R LSD into an LS transmission. There is some modification you must do to make it fit.

Is it possible to add an LSD to any of these transmissions? If I'm going with any of these cars it'll probably be a GSR. Are difficult or how much modifying would it require to install the TypeR gears /final drive/ and lsd into the GSR?

Did you read my post?
Is there a reason you want to put in Type R gears/final drive/LSD? First of all, the ITR tranny has very short gears. In many instances, a GSR tranny will satisfy most people. It has a great medium between acceleration and highway cruising.
The OEM LSD in the Type R doesn't hold that much power. What are the goals of your car? If you really want all Type R internals, why don't you just get a Type R tranny? Or an Si tranny (with an LSD)?
Anyhow, the GSR has a 4.400 final drive and allows the USDM ITR LSD to be bolted directly in. The ratios of the GSR, however, are different. To put in an LSD from another tranny into another tranny, you must make sure the final drive and the countershafts are the same.
EDIT: I just re-read your post, and you didn't specifically mention the ITR LSD. I apologize. Yes, you can add an LSD to ANY transmission. Just tell the company that you're ordering the LSD from what type of tranny you have and they will send you the proper LSD.
