Default Raising Boost w/ internal wastegate

Is it safe to raise boost by tightening my actuator arm on my internal wastegate so that the spring sees more tension resulting in staying closed longer. I have the Edelbrock kit which has an adjustable actuator wastegate arm and I'm only seeing 4-5lbs of boost. I recently purchased a MBC which works but shows different boost levels at different gears(2nd and 3rd gear 6lbs, 4th 5th gear 8lbs) and creeps 1-2 lbs. I want to acheive even boost levels without the use of a electronic boost controller. So in closing is it "safe " to adjust (tighten) the wastegate actuator arm to increase boost?

Thanks,
Rick

Anyone? I need to get this figured out right away as I'm going for additional dyno tuning in a couple of hours.

Thanks

Sure, that is the way to go. Tighten the actuator arm. "Safe" depends on whether or not you are tuned for it.

It's tuned for 8 psi.

When you tighten the actuator, all it does is prevent the flapper from opening all the way, making it creep. The only real way to increast boost is to add another spring. This will raise the opening pressure.
