Found a set of 4 (new) on fleaBay for $300 shipped. Not bad I think...
Anyway, just curious about reviews and how long they last.
Note that Tirerack doesn't sell Toyo's, so you can't go there for reviews/specs...

The T1-S was Toyo's top-of-the-line tire and is being replaced by their improved T1-R tire. Overall performance of the T1-S is better than budget performance tires like the Yokohama ES100, but it's not quite as good as the best top-of-the-line tires like the Goodyear F1 GS-D3, Bridgestone S-03, etc.
One web source for Toyo street tires is onlinetires.com. I would check their prices on the T1-R for comparison. For example, if you're getting the 195/50-15 size, you can get a set of four for $240 plus shipping (and sales tax if you're in California), which may be a better deal than eBay.
Also keep in mind that when you buy discontinued tires, you run the risk that one of them gets damaged and you can't buy a tire to match the rest of your set.

The difference between the Toyo T1R and Bridgestone SO3 is the Treadwear Toyo T1R/T1S 280. Bridgestone 220 the Toyo will lasta little longer because the Bridgestone is a softer compound. As for the Eagle F1 same treadwear as the TOYO T1R 280. I would say pricing is a different between the three, it all depends who you buyt he tires from, if theyare distributors of either of these tires.

Yeah, I thought about that the other day...Good point though.
I'm getting 205-50-16s, that site was about 109/apiece for the T1-R's in that size. So I think I got a deal.
Thanks for the replies (it's been a while since I needed/bought new tires).

Treadwear ratings are not supposed to be used for comparison between brands. A 220 rating for a Bridgestone tire is not necessarily the same as a 220 rating for a Toyo or Goodyear tire.
I think you can expect any of these tires to last a somewhat long time - not as long as hard-as-a-rock tires on a family sedan, but longer than supersticky tires like Falken Azenis. Figure anywhere from 15K to 30K miles on most cars.

Just had these put on today. Ended up being $380 for a set of 4 in 16", so I think I got a steal.
I'll post a review once I drive hard in them for a little while. So far so good though.
