Default Hello, I finnally got my GSR

Hey guys, im the proud owner of a white 95 integra gsr !
i finnaly got it back from the shop, i had an h23 swapped into it because i bought the car from a kid who waterlocked the engine "idiot" and decided that im going to do the h23 block with an h22 head. I like the torque numbers of the h23 and the horse numbers of the h22 also the vtec will be fun. In any case, i just wanted to pop on and say whats up. I do have a current deliema.
The kid before me purchased tokico blue shocks with coilovers im not quite sure what type. in anycase, he lowered the damned car so much that he blew the shocks in the back and blew the coilovers in the front. Basically the problem im at is i dont neccesarily have the funds to blow ~600 dollars on my suspension. I realize that my engine is going to become extremly heavy thus good suspension is critical, " i know the h22s are heavier" but my first question would be, if i had 200-300 dollars to spend on the suspension, coilovers are not a big deal, i dont like my ride lowered anyways, the hit in performance is not desireable for me, but, 200-300 dollars to spend on some new back shocks, has anyone heard much about tokicos? i looked them up on the web last night, found some varying results, so i wanted to ask people who had put them on the same car i now own
Thanks in advance
Grant

did you try searching? i don't have any info on your particular scenario, but you can almost always find something useful if you do a search. the locals here like it if you search first. if you do, make note in your first post so you don't get chastised for not searching. welcome to the board.

In terms of tokiko's, the illuminaz are good, i dont have a set, but i've heard great things about them, in terms of a cheaper tokiko model, the blues are good for what you pay for.

I actually read a post here the other day, that a guy had a set of coilovers, didnt say what kind, and a set of blues, he said it was a little bumby, but hey, in your case, anything is better than blown.

How does the h22 perform as to the b18c1? or have you driven a gsr with the b18c1?

You could pick up some H&R or Neuspeed sport springs for around $150 and get some Tokico Illuminas for the rear. Koni yellows would be a better choice, but are alittle pricey.

attempted to reply earlier, apparently it did not work - in any case, i have a buddy who has a stock 97 teg we have raced where i drive my car and where i drive his car and he drives mine, and consistantly my car wins in both cases
through all gears my engine has more power, yet his rev's quicker
I have looked around on others posts, i did not find a specific answer to my earlier stated question and thanks for your detailed answer BuilttB18C5 I think im going to pick up some konis I cant wait till i put the h22 head on top of the h23 ))

congrats on your car. A gsr is no good without a b18c1 motor. You could have just bought a prelude. Tokico are good stuff, get them.

except that a prelude is heavier and i love the integra body style, also the h23 with an h22 head on it will be nothing to laugh at. thanks for the brilliant reply.

first problem - After driving my teg for a while ( longer than 15 min.) if i shut off the car, it will not start up, everything will turn it just will not actually turn the engine. The car has been sitting for the past 2 years so is it possibly bad fuel?? if i wait for about an hour it will start right up as if it never had a problem? any ideas from you engine wizzes out there?
thanks

before you go off and spending money one parts that you really could wait for... try spending the moeny on tune-ups(since you said the car has been sitting for 2 yrs).
