I have a 4th gen, and last year my son would fit in the back in a car seat he was 3, now he is 4 and hit a growth spurt so he sits up front in a booster seat. He loves it.

Most people joined the service to get a college education since we havent been to war in over 70 years. They dont have a choice, they are over there because their *** belongs to the goverment. Usally people wish nothing but the best and safe return of brothers, sisters, fathers, sons etc...

Takes ***** to stand in a foreign county with a target on your chest. Dont turn this into a bush thread, he asked about a car seat, not why hes fighting.

Assuming you and the wife of your child arent very tall, it should be possible to fit a child seat in the back. If you are average or above average height forget it

A car seat will fit no problem as long as one of you is under 6 feet tall.

my 5th gen came with hooks in the back so 2 child seats could be safely installed also i had my friend who is 5'10 and he fit just perfectly in but after that it gets a little crampt in the back.
PS my cousin serves in the canadian military same as my good friend but wants a transfer to the british military

i'm 5'8" so maybe i'll be ok. i plan on test driving a few cars anyways so i'll see for myself.

i'm just trying to get a car that has a/c but yet fun to drive. i want an integra but i don't want to see it get stolen. i might just end up getting a 96+ hatch, but we'll see.

thanks!

I think the Prelude is a more fun car to drive, however, I think it is a car that people out grown quickly once you start a family. Fortunately, my Prelude is a second car so I will never out grow it.

The baby seat issue shouldn't be bad. In fact, I think the rear seating was designed for small kids. There is not much else you can put back there. The Prelude really is a 2-seater car.

Anyway, good luck, be safe, and I hope you all come back home soon!

i understand this, thats why i said hes just doing his job....and i appreciate that just like i appreciate prison guards or anyone else in a risky job....

back to topic, tall+prelude is never a good equation, im 5'8" too....i have no complaints, but my 6+ft tall friends hate the back seat....

car seat should fit.

for a kid, the back would be prefectly mine. at the age of 5, they would barely be able to have their little feet touch the floor, unless they're giants, but as a full sized adult, i wouldnt sit in my backseat. i am 5'9 140. it might work if i was 5 feet tall, but even then, i might get cramped. when you pull the front chair back all the way, there is about 3 inchs of rooms. not even enough to put your shoes sideways. i had the 4th gen btw. oh yeah, preludes are really nice cars, but in all honestly, if you're looking at a family car, a sedan might work a lot better. it would be easier to get the carseat in and out of the car with 4 doors instead of a small sport coupe. the trunk is also small, unless you decide to gut the whole thing, then you gain a good amount of room, but good luck trying to transport anything big with the sparewheel in there.

anchors for a child safety seat were one of the (few) features added with the 2001 (final year) Prelude so clearly Honda believed you can fit a baby seat in the back of a 5th gen.

You can, of course, add child safety seat anchors to any car that didn't ship with them from the factory (provided there's room to hold the baby seat) so you should be able to fit a baby seat in the back of any 5th gen Prelude.

Baby seats do not fit comfortably in the 5th gen prelude. They do fit, just not comfortably. Any time I take my daughter anywhere we roll in mom's 98 accord EX sedan

I have a 4th gen.

an infant carrier with a base will not fit. I had to lean my pass seat forward when my daughter was born as the rear facing seat was too long and my wife sat behind the driver.....it sucked.....but a regular forward facing upright seat will work fine. Put a towel down to prevent the leather from getting marred and absorb spills. Shes 3 now and in a booster seat and it fits perfectly over the bulges in the leather.

To having a child in the FRONT SEAT. Kids belong in the back where it is safest and AWAY FROM AIRBAGS. Your kid could DIE if struck by an airbag deployed at over 100 mph. My daughter sits in the back right side so she can always see me and talk to me, in a booster buckled up, away from airbags.

If you are referring to me, then I will tell you I don't have a passanger airbag, and my son sits as far back as possible. Yes he sits in a booster seat, with a lap belt and shoulder belt with strap to hold the belt at his shoulder. I believe it to be just as safe or safer than the back.

Your kid could DIE doing alot of things, does that mean that you keep them locked up inside, where they might also possibly DIE.
