noise in the blower motor...
Well as some of you know already i bought a 96 GSR a couple weeks ago and have been doing general repairs to it.
When the air is turned on i hear what I thought was leaves in the blower. Took out the blower and there was some leaves.... cleaned it out and put it back together and it is still making noise! sounds like a hamster wheel.
took the whole thing apart and blew it out with compressed air and it is quiet but not silent.
could the barrings have gone out? and in which case what does a new one run these days?

I was going to say use some grease/oil on it to see if that helps.
Also, where is the blower located I need to clean mine too.

right behind the glovebox... doesn't even need anything to be moved out of the way... look under the dash on the passanger side and it is right there! turn it on and listen for the sound is the way i found it btw.
!!!UPDATE!!!
Blasted the Blower motor with some DW40 and it still is making noise... it has the be a bad barring (SP)...
anyone know where to find one and how much? maybe len can help me out.

I believe auto parts stores have a generic one that fits just fine for cheap. My A/C drain line was plugged by some wasps nests, and the evaporator dripped water into my fan motor for a long time. Finally my blower motor siezed up on me. I pulled it out, used some PB blaster on it, and it has been fine for the last few months. Took a day or two for the smell of the PB blaster to leave tho. Oh, it blows twice as hard on all settings now too.
