Default Compression ratio help and valvetrain questions

Im building an LSVTEC with for my buddies car and this is my first true all motor build. I usually build turbo motors and go with lower compression. Its a B18b with 10.5:1 pistons and a b16a head. Stock HG thickness. Does anyone have an idea what the compression will be. The bottom end is balanced with eagle rods also. What head modifications are best to make within a reasonable price to make good horsepower in the 9000 prm range. Thanks for help

a lot!! stock CR on a B18B is around 9, and ls/vtec (depending on the head you use) raises this to almost 10.

try the CR calculator:

For the head I'd say get a good port and polish for the extra flow, and a set of nice bumpsticks to make that baby breathe. I have no idea how to calculate the CR with aftermarket pistons.

you need the dome cc's
and the combust. chamber cc's, as well as the volume of the cylinders.

get a good valvetrain, and some cams. maybe a rocket complete head package would do you good. m22x's

I just found it, its 5.7 with 30mm Comp height. This bring compression to 12:1. Is that too much for a daily driver? Yes it will be tuned.
