Default D-Series transmission options?

I plan exploding my transmission in the near future, at that time, i'm wanting to buy an LSD and a transmission with longer gears (D16Z6 currently). What options do i have as far as a tough transmission with long gears?

don't blow it up, sell it and buy something good like a new engine/tranny?

Why would i want a new engine when i just built and turbo'd this one? I'm going to be going through transmissions frequently, i'm looking into options aside from another Z6, the gears are too short. Cruising the interstate at 4k sucks and i have hardly any gear (or traction) before i have to shift until 3rd.

Longer gears will slow you down. Put an LSD in the Z6 tranny and buy some R compound tires. If it were me doing it, I'd rock a 4.7 final drive as well.

I know what longer gears will do.

This is 12psi of 20, or ~200whp of ~300.

I want longer gears, there's no way i will get traction with about 100 more hp even with a LSD, that and it's my daily driver, i want better gas mileage.

DX hatch looks good, maybe the VX. I assume either will be a direct swap? Are they as tough as the EX's?
