rwd civic?
I was reading an old sport compact. Talked about gt racing the mag featured a sentra and two crx's. On crx was FWD the other was RWD. Knowing this could there exist a tranny to make b engines rear. I want so bad to see a nice perfectly working Civic coupe. I would think hottness and possibly a trend. Has anyone found a tranny? For any other honda engine. Screw mid engine rear wheel.
There was a thread on this a couple months back in this exact forum.
Turns out it was a wagon with a horrible tranny. It was 3 or 4 gears, one of which was for towning. Just a shitty tranny. Search for rwd civic and the thread should come up.

CRV transmission. But you'd have to do a lot of work because it would probably interfere with your exhaust and gas tank.
Remounting exhaust and gas tank
Making some kind of hangars for it
Cutting up the underside to make it fit correctly

crv is fulltime awd and kinda was thinking just trying to find some douchebag that could make a custom trans to fit. yes moving exhaust and gas is probably a must gas tank in trunk and whatnot. but tell me you would not be impressed by a RWD civic.
Honda Tuning did a project AWD integra using a CRV tranny and various other honda components, it was about a year ago and over the span of a couple issues, this is all i could find

SCCA Club Racing's GT4 class has had several RWD CRXes/Civics competing over the years. They are using SOHC 1.5L engines. Some of them were using Alfa transmissions IIRC, probably with a custom bell housing among some other custom parts/work. Believe me, there is a LOT of money and development time into this sort of thing.
You could also buy one of those Quaife custom dog-boxes for $15,000 . . .
Or you could go the easy route like some folks have done and use a complete S2000 drivetrain.
Again, this sort of stuff takes a lot of time, effort, and money. It will never be a "trend." Nobody is going to make a "conversion kit" with every little piece you need to make your car RWD and function properly, like they do for everything else, because the demand is not there for it to be worthwhile. <rant> The Honda community is definitely spoiled in that regard; if there is something you can possibly do to a Honda, somebody has already done it, written about it, and developed an easy kit so that any idiot could do it. There are books and write-ups and products out there that could have my grandmother swapping a K-series into her '93 Civic and then turbocharging it in a single weekend. </rant>
There is no point in having a RWD Civic anyway. What is the big deal? What are you going to do with it? The result is pretty lame for the amount of energy and resources you'd spend on it. If you want to drift, go buy something from the plethora of RWD cars already available.

The other option is mid-engine, there was a teg on here that was being converted for mid-H22 IIRC. Or was it a prelude? I dunno, the fact is that's cheaper, but either way you are required to essentially re-engineer half the car. And unless you're trying for a Honda capible of mid-9's in street-legal trim, there are other ways to make Hondas fast.
What it amounts to is that any RWD/AWD paltform made by Honda can't handle much power in stock form. I'd much rather have a fast FWD Honda AND a RB25DET'd Nissan than spend a year making a RWD/AWD Honda.

Dude if you want a RWD then buy a RWD car. Its a stupid idea in the first place. It cost too much moneyl. It will put you threw alot of pain. Dont' bother with and stop trying to be the drifter you aren't.
