Anti-theft for stereo
ok guys my accord was broken into 5 times!
now i own a 96 GSR and i'll be damned if i'm going to let them get away this time...
Is there a way to relocate or hook down the CD player inside so it is a pain in the *** to get out and would take some time?

on the back of your radio you have a screw hole for an 8mm screw that actually will come with a new radio bolt a backstrap to that then fish it down behind your ash tray and cig lighter and screw that bitch down be a pain to get out but hey they wont get it i guarntee it!
ok I have a fix (temp fix anyway) that is going to let me sleep somewhat easier now.
There was a metal plate on the back of my unit help on my 4 screws... i took it off and took 2 black zip-ties and put them between the unit and the metal plate... the zipped them around a metal post in the dash... as well as the plastic addapter frame being zipped down as well... nice and black and hidden.

backstrapping the deck will just annoy the potential thief more and they might trash your car trying to take out your radio.
take your old factory deck, preferably a tape deck. take your new detachable face CD receiver and tape. duct tape them together and shove it back into the dash. if it has a silver trim ring, either paint it black or don't use it at all. if you don't use the trim ring and you can see the metal cage cover it up with magic marker. when you have the faceplate off, it will look like it's just an oem pocket below.
when a potential thief walks past your car, they'll think that all you have is a factory tape deck.

If the HU you have does not have a removable faceplate, [or even if it does] then make a "dummy" plate out of a junked oem cass deck, remove the face of the oem unit, [easy to do] grind off anything on the back of the face, glue on any ***** that are loose, a little more grinding so it will fit over the aftermarket unit or in place of the aftermarket HUs face plate, done deal looks stock, you may want to think about an alarm also.

OIC, Unfortunately the stock alarms do not stop anyone from smashing a window and climbing through it , [not opening the door] so no alarm.
That said, there is not much you can do about "smash and grab" no alarm will stop someone from smashing the window and grabbing whatever, they can a be gone long before you or anybody can get to your car.
A HU that is mounted without a proper back support can be stolen in a very short period, [seconds], the back support on most Honda/Acuras is nothing more then an "L" bracket on the back of the HU with the bottom of the "L" "_" level with the bottom of the HU and is mounted to the stock radio back support brace, even though the stock radio uses 2 machine screws just left and right off center to back brace the unit, [BTW it's all that holds the stock radio and pocket in place] you will find a slot/hole in the center of the back brace support that will line right up with the center of the aftermarket HU, [and it's "L" bracket] aaah Honda, they think of everything.
As for pissing off a crook because it's making it harder for him to rip you off, well we may just as well leave our keys in the car then, [we wouldn't want to **** them off]
Adding an alarm with an impact or glass break sensor would help, I believe DEI still makes an alarm that allows you to use your stock remote to arm and disarm it, [you wire the cars door locks to the DEI alarm] arming the stock alarm lockes the doors in turn arming the DEI alarm.

Factory alarm has a glass break sensor. (dont know how well it works though) and as for pissing him off. is it really that dangerous of an idea? i figured he would get frusterated and move on.
Happy-go-lucky thieves expletive up your car just as much as pissed off ones. Is there something we can do to the car to make car thieves smarter? They do a lot of stupid type damage you know like when they take a crowbar to your side mirror because they're too ******* retarded to know it's not going to help them break in.
but they can't really see in the dark..cuz when i take my face plate off, its pitch black you can't see ****..and i got tinted windows..
but its a temp fix for you...that won't hold that long<---the zip ties thing
