a lot of highway driving...but I think the price is still good. There are a few threads abouth high mileage Rs which should back this up

About the same as has been discussed by other owners. About a quart every 1000 miles. Using the vtec range can effect this though.

actually that sounds rather HIGH...?

my mtor doesnt use nearly that much, but maybe thats because its fairly new.

I don't think there is a standard amount of oil consumption across the board for these cars. I believe acura states that that kind of consumption is normal...

The wording I've heard with regard to 1 qt/1,000 miles is "acceptable consumption."

Mine never burned a drop, but it wasn't pounded on terribly hard, and was still a baby when I sold it (26k miles)

Driven by a doctor all highway never once seeing VTEC for the first 39K, then purchased by my best friend who only put 5K miles on it. Sold to Ed with approx 44K, then Ed did the rest!

Didn't think you would actually get the whole story did you .
