we were thinking of heading out to pomona in october and racing the prelude in the street stock class instead of the brackets...

im in the process of installing a carbon fiber sunroof plug. are sunroof plugs legal in the street classes? there isnt any mention of them in the rulebook, but a few weeks back in vegas, we noticed that the guy who won the the class (drives a black rsx) is using a sunroof plug... so, can i run the plug in the street classes???

now that were on the subject, my prelude is completely stripped from the seats back... how much of interior do i need back there? as of now, there is nothing behind the backseats.

i was actually thinking of cutting the rear deck (where the speakers go) but that wouldnt be legal in the street classes, would it???

if it doesnt mention it in the rulebook i think its fair game but u better make sure

thats the thing though, the rules specifically say,

"Lightweight body panels limited to hood and hatch or deck lid"

key words here is "limited to"... as previously mentioned, the guy who won the class in vegas (black rsx) uses one. as far as replacing body panels, both the street stock class and sfwd have the same rules...

should i complete the plug install? at the very least, could someone point me towards someone that might know if sunroof plugs are legal in the class???

 

Its legal. I run it and there is a post where Jim Skelly of NHRA said it was legal.
