Default Supply and Demand: k20a price depreciation?

Now that the new civic si will have a 200hp k series engine, and with addition of the k20a in the rsx type-s, evidently there will be more k20's available to the public (that is when they end up in the junkyard) to reach the demand of purchase, right?

Does this mean we'll start seeing a depreciation on these motors due to supply and demand?

Probably not very soon, I've actually seen prices have been going up, not down.

I don't understand why its going to stay or go up? Maybe I just don't understand Supply & Demand, or is it simply because this doesn't apply to the K series motor?

There is actually a kid that works with a friend of mine that wants to trade me a 50k K20 out of a Type-S complete swap for my ITR motor. I think ill stick with the ITR..

Didn't know that. Thats another reason why they should be cheaper too. Theres going to be an abundant amount of LSD later in the future.

The thing is that the K-Swap is still in a relatively early stage. They're increasing in popularity as more people are realizing their potential, so of course people selling them are going to ask for more money. Similar to the B, I think that once the K-swap begins to be something that people are doing in their home garages and under shady trees with their homies and a 24 pack, that's when the price will start to decrease.

I hoping this is not going to be true.
The immobolizer in the RSX type S will be a thing to get past.
I doubth the theft rate on the RSX will be quite as high as the Civic Si's and Integra's.
But on Hybrid's thats a different story.

Well if i were you, i'l tell him plus like a G on top. What year is the motor coming out of? Its worth it man, k20a2s in civics with just your average bolt ons, pipe on a stick with a shitty HASport header have ran low 13s like 13.3 on street tires. If that tells you anything. Hell i got a k20aR motor in a hatch, and im aiming on slicks at low low low 12s like 12.1 maybe....Hopefully.

On another note what year is this motor coming from?

Not true, you can piece together a k24 bottom end froma CRV, a Type S head and a type S tranny.

K24 bottom end=500-1000 depending the condition and if your getting the full long block or what.

Type S head Complete= 700-1000
Type S tranny = 700-1000

Thats a little over 3gs if you add in everything to get a complete motor, and if you look around right you could get something good for that amount.

Now the other stuff though, if you do it penny pinching will be another 1500, even with a shitty header like lets say the HAsports one or DC Sports TSX header you still will make like 190ish whp, and 15x-16x tq. And this is untuned. With Kpro You'd be in the 2xxwhp and 16x tq. With a good header, 21xwhp 16x-17x tq.
But then again a nice header like DTRs is like 1g and hondata is close to that also.

And im also forgetting tuning, but who ever factors that in?

thats what i meant about peicing it together...imo it comes out better, except i bought a k20a2 block for 300 with bad pistons, so new k20a pistons and rings, arp bolts n head studs and the total cost comes out a lil bit over 1000 for a k2oa wannabe block.

But like i said, imo peicing together the block is the way to go, its a headache but im on a highschool budget.

Just found a k24 bottom end for $750. I think i'm gonna go with what you're saying and peice everything together. I'm on a budget too.
