Default Best non-vtec LS turbo HP #'s?

Please post the best hp numbers you have made on your b18a/b setup at around 18-20 psi on pump gas.

Also please post weather it was a dynojet or mustang dyno...

a friend just made 416 @ 17psi T70 on pump - this is low boost setting - he plans to run race fuel and make 600.

I am truly lost...

I just cannot see how some of you people are making over 400whp on a pump gas setup with less than 20psi...
I have a lot of ****..I mean a lot of ****, awsome tuning, great headwork, etc etc and am only pushing 335whp at 18psi.....

Someone care to enlighten me as to why that is?

60-1 78 trim....

pretty big turbo, there is certainly no issues with that on the level of power I am making.

-V-SPEC 1: I would really like to see that dyno sheet and knoiw more about your setup. No offense, I just have a really hard time beliving that.

-Impact: your numbers sound realistic considering where I am at.

-Dunkd: same thing, I don't know much abot the t70, but it still seems far fetched to me to run 407whp on any low boost settings w/ an LS block on pump gas, even if it is a dynojet.

Keep 'em coming!

T04B compressor, inefficient. Makes plenty of power, but isn't king dick of the erroneous hp per psi club.

Dick made 340 whp at 12 psi with HX35, 2.0 sleeved bottom end, and unported 91 LS small port head with high lift short duration cams. On a Mustang dyno.

Dick knows Blundar. Do you know Blundar? Blundar works odd hours out of Zerolift, maybe he could ride along and advise.

Check out masetuning.com i'm not sure if the dyno sheet is there, but it's the yellow civic coupe w/ Volks 18"s. remember i said above, the gas were used was 112 mix w/ 93 octane @ 50/50 mixture. I hope that's clear.

its a fully built JG head so that might help. and a T70 is a HUGE turbo.

V-SPEC 1:Sorry, it was late, I missed the gas being mixed part.

J. Davis: Yes, i know Blundar, I actually purchased my intake manifold from him.

I after reviewing some dyno graphs, I think my problem is not so much my hp #'s per psi of boost, but th eflow of th ehead. There is really no difference in hp between 12-13psi and 18 psi. maybe 20 hp. The head just isn't flowing, even with the port work, I suppose it is just reality that LS heads suck!

dunkd: Reguardless of the turbo size, if the head does not flow the increase in psi makes no matter; it simply does not flow, and even with the jg head, it seems a stretch to me. Considering most of my headwork was mimicked to jg's specs.

B20T CRX: What grade of fuel? What engine? What turbo? What dyno, etc etc.

Thanks and please keep them coming. BTW, just to make it clear, this is for my own and other members personal info. I am not bashing anyone or their car. I am simply comparing and contrasting, so please do not send me im's, emails or posts that complain of me doing so. I appreciate all th einput and hope you all can accept my criticism. (even if I am not the biggest boost guru)

Change and regap your plugs. If they are glazed, the usually start misfiring in a "smooth" fashion once you hit an arbitrary imep. Would feel smooth, but stop making any more power after a certain point.

I think the record for a stock LS head is in the 700-800 whp range. Porting, cams, all this lifts power level. It isn't the head.

J. Davis: I would like to see that
The plugs have been read and their ar eno issues there.

hp figure was courtesy of Brad Z of RLZ. He might have been teasing me, I get all hot and bothered over LS trivia.

Reading plugs doesn't always diagnose glazing. Replace with regular old steel electrode NGK at $1.68/per, and see what she says. You have AFRs and ignition maps for the area you have lackluster power increase?

J. Davis: I dohave maps, but it is an ems file...

I know I am running conservative timing of only 10-12*, that has a bit to do with the lack of power.

What octane gas? Why so little timing? Did you see knock running higher than that? Seems too conservative......

SPOOLINDA: Those seem like very realistic numbers and a really nice setup.

That is about where I wanted to be on my setup. I will be purchasing a sleeved block and making some changes

IF that's all of the power you want i wouldn't even buy a sleeved block. All it can do is cause you trouble, whether it is a sunk sleeve or the price tag hooked to the sleeved block. Get a good tune and you can make 500+ on stock sleeves.

What are you reving too? The stock ls revs to 7200 rpm, and the head flows like ***. Sounds to me that if you dont have any boost leaks or compression problems, you have the wrong turbo. Post your dyno
