Default Crane Cams - Need opinions

What do you guys think of Crane cams? Does anyone here run them or even run these exact cams?

Ive never met anyone running those, dont seem like a bad cam though. I would highly recommend One of Rockets cams, like the M22. Proven to make power and great company. Good luck

I use the crane roller cams........makes for a lightweight valvetrain with the Ferrea rocker arms......getting the intake on the most beneficial LCA is key of course.

I will look into the Rockets cams.

Doesnt seem like too many guys here run Crane cams. I searched but not much came up. I am trying to debate if I should install these cams or sell them for something else. I want to get a more mild cam since my car is daily driven (gf drives it alot too).

Yeah the idle is pretty rough on the stage 2's and that is with a good amount of tuning.

DD look into like skunk 2 stage 2's or like jun III's, or blox 2's. They have smaller primaries for a near stock idle and power levels off of vtec. Scream up top.

yeah, use some vtec cams for street use...just wasting gas otherwise.

I love how Crane Cams are "unproven" and a "waste of gas" just because no one has posted up dyno plots/numbers on Honda-Tech.

Crane Cams is a reputable company that has been making camshafts longer than most people on this board have been alive. They do not make ****. Not only that, do you really think zero research and testing went in to these?

When saying waste of gas he means running a roller rocker setup on the street. Not the crane vtec cams.

I ran the 253-0014 (stage 3) cams in my 11.5:1 B20. My powerband didn't go much past 6,500. The idle seemed fine to me. We never made it to a dyno, but did an extensive street tune on it....really couldn't get them any better. I called Crane and was on hold for 2 hours trying to talk to someone about them. After explaining my setup, they seemed to think it was because I wasn't using adjustable cam gears then gave me some recomended cam timing to try out. I cracked the sleeve in my B20 about a week after that and then lost the sheet I wrote the cam timing on.

I'm just finishing up my new motor and want to try them out again, but every time I call I can't get through. Their service was really good once I got through, but getting through is a pain in the ***. Who has 2 hours to spend on hold during business hours?? Top that off with no tech support email address. That's my only real complaint with them.

I'm trying to get the cam timing specs again form them. I'll try to post them up once I get them.
