I've gota 2001 gsr with a broken trunk latch has anyone else had this problem and is it an easy fix?

 

Seems to happen to quite a few folks...On mine, it just whined like it was trying to unlock. I still dont know exactly what it is, but it's either the motor or the actuator. Go to acuraparts247.com for a breakdown of the parts. For now just use the key to get in, It's not that bad.

 

I have a 98 which uses the same latch mechanism and the plastic part that actually moves to lock it broke off. I went to the Honda dealer and they told me it would be like $240 for it but I got one at a salvage yard for $50 and it works fine. Installation is cake. Itll take 10 min tops.
