Owned...
...by a freakin screw in the middle of my back tire!
There is no pressure loss but I really don't feel safe having the possibility of a my rear tire going flat @70 mph always in the back of my mind. I ordered a new D208 from Southwest Moto Tires which was a pretty smooth process, and hopefully it will be here sometime this later this week. And yes I know D208's are the suck, but it was cheaper than getting a full new set of PP's that I don't have the ability to use well yet.
Anywho, on average, how much is it to mount and balance a new tire? Also is it safe or even possible to patch something like this?

had that happen to me before only my rear tire did go flat at 70... yeah that was pretty scary, esspecially on the freeway where if i went down i would have been run over by 3 cars before i know what had happened. somehow i kept it up and this occured during my 2nd month of riding
A plug/patch is fine.
Mounting/balancing should be anywhere between $10-25 per wheel, depending on how well you know the person changing your tires. It usually costs less if the wheel is off the bike, too.
Sorry to hear about getting a nail. It happens.
