smoke coming from valve cover breather
well for some reason there is smoke coming from my breather filter on my valve cover,is this common,also my car is sputtering lightly.need help asap

that's exactly what that is. i know some people wont even put breathers on that line out. instead they have a clear, plastic tube. this informs them of any blowby, or bad rings...this can be caused by extreme hard driving , not having enough oil and revving it out, not having enough oil, period and having a plain ole' high mileage motor. i wish you luck. oh, and yes, this can cause major loss of power, as compression drops.

If I'm not mistaken it should be in the hose that comes from the intake manifold and goes into the valve cover. It should be inserted into the valve cover. On a d15b7 like mine, the PCV valve is connected to an oil breather on one end that is connected to the block below the intake manifold. On the other end it's connected to a hose that runs to the intake manifold.
