2006 civic si stock 1/4 mile only 15.4
I cant beleive this. The new and very hyped civic si coupe honda claims to run only a 15.4 quarter mile. This is GS-R territory. Whats up with this?

13 less horsepower, its 0-60 time is one tenth slower then the 99-00 si.;...plus this cars is est. one second slower then the 05 rsx-s

It's a car magazine time on most likely an engine that has yet to be broken in.
Most car mags don't drop a clutch like most drag racers, and the K-series motors tend to run much better after a good 10k.
I wouldn't look to much into this.

It doesn't have 13 less hp. The RSX-S that's rated at 210 was with the old standards, the new Si was rated according to the new SAE standards, so it's @ 197, but with the old standards it would probably be right around 200hp. I think it's mostly due to the stock tires and the weight. The '02-'04 RSX is 2700+ lbs., the new Si is 2900 lbs.

these # might not be realistic
Have a look at other web sites that dynoed some pre-prod Sis.They put ~210 hp on the hub of dynapack dyno, this is almost 2000/2001 S2000 teritory.
One of the Sis put 218hp with air box cover removed, and this is exactly S2000 (2001) number on this type of dyno. If you recall 2001 S2000 was rated at 240 hp.
2004 rsx type s puts 180 hp on this dyno.
Now I agree Honda might have tuned these pre-production cars, but also they migh not be telling all...
Either way if this is true with production cars, this thing will be low 14s teritory 2900 lbs or not...

Exactly..
GTFO!!!

drop the old standards. the dc5 type s is now at 201. the civic is at 197. 4 hp difference. isnt the dc5 rated at like 14.8. mid 15's is pretty bad for the civic. the dc5 weighs in at about 2880 or 2860. weight isnt that much more in the new civic.

The new Si and the DC5 weigh about the same, I think the Si weighs in at 2880. What magazine did you get this from? Could the short ratio transmission be the cause, magazine not knowing how to drive, an engine that isn't broken in?

At least this keeps your little wet dream about your ITR alive. Hey, wait, what does VTEC sound like when it engages in the new SI? Is it loud??? Does it kick you back into your seat???

Ugh, don't tell him that! You'll ruin his whole life! B-series is better than K-series because VTEC kicks in harder!!! And it's louder!!!
