Default hook fan up to a switch

like the title says...whats the best way to do this...as of right now the fan is wired straight to the battery and was always on......or can i wire it up to a key activated wire like the ingniton wire but is ther one under the hood??? need help asap

Probably the easiest way to do it is wire it up to the radio, so whenever you have your radio on the fan is on.

You could do a physical switch, but if you ever forget to flip the switch, you could have serious problems

i have a switch to activate my fans. its pretty convenient. but like Specturm24x says, forgetting to turn it on could be bad...

if you were to hook it up to a switch, use a relay so that all the current does not run through the switch. Hooking up to the accessory wire woul allow it to turn on when you're driving, but then it would also stay on if you were to just sit in your car with your engine off while listening to the radio or something.
