Default Machine Shop?

Okay here is the deal I am about to take my engine to a machine shop..... I checked a local reputable (for hondas) machine shop and they charge pretty high prices for their services. I googled machine shops near me and found a place that is substantially cheaper $10-$20 less per service. I called him up and spoke with the guy for a while and he sounded knowledgable in hondas. BUT when I told him that I was using P30 pistons he about blew a gasket and told me I can't use pump gas with those pistons which has been proven wrong. With the exception of the pistons the guy sounded like he knew his ****. Question is do you think I should trust this guy with rebuilding my block and ordering bearings or should I fork out the extra couple hundred and take it to the place that is known for building honda engines? Springfield Custom Auto Machining (S.C.A.M) in Virginia if anyone is familiar with it.

You can buy all the top notch parts in the world, but that dont mean **** if the machining is fawked up.

Go to the place that is KNOWN for great machine work, this is not the step in the engine building process to count pennies.

I know all this but I never asked the other guy if he could provide proof of his work..... He may be reputable I just may have never heard of him....

ask around locally also, see if anyone else has gotten there machine work done there and if they were happy with the results. I'm originally from maryland so I'll call around and see if my little brother or his friends know of anyone, if you dont get any decent responses by then

Well my Dad knows of someone locally that has been in business for a while like 10+ years it is a smaller shop but my dad had work done there and he is trying to get in touch with them... I am hating the down time but I can deal with more if it gets screwed, but I am DEFINATELY going to make sure that there is some sort of liability thing going on there... I will not sign a waiver saying they aren't responsible....
