crankshaft pulley?
sorry i dont have much time to do a search through the archive threads, but i am in teh middle of replacing my timing belt on my 1990 Honda CRX DX and i have tried three different impacts to try to get the cranshaft pulley bolt off so that i can continue the break down.
is there a special tool required to remove this bolt without rounding it off?

Impact, impact, impact
I eventually gave up on trying to take off my crank pulley by muscle power alone and took the block to an autosalvage yard where they hit the bad boy with a 500ft/lb impact. With this, it still took 45 seconds of constant beating to remove the sucker.

EITHER THAT or a breaker/cheater bar works every time

That works if the pulley has been removed recently, if not, you are boned. It does help to have the engine in the car, if you take out the motor and then want to remove the crank pulley......we're sorry.
24" long 1/2" breaker bar, 1/2" six point socket, 20" long 1/2" extension and a 4-foot section of pipe makes easy work out of it.
I found that it was best to rest the part of the extension nearest the breaker bar on a jack stand as a pivot point.
good luck

i was using my uncle's 800 lb impact on our cheap 8 gallon compressor. it took about 10 times of pulling the trigger until the PSI was down to 60 and letting the tank refill until it finally came off. ive also heard that bumping your PSI to 125 helps, but i never did that.
