Default seafoam on a high mileage motor?

my friend has a cx motor with 230k on the motor, would seafoaming it casue it to wear out faster? and would doing so make it run a bit smoother and possibly better acceleration?

seafoam is unpredictable, I have seen it do some good things, but I have also seen some bads things happen when using it.

Use water, it works, do a search if you don't believe me. Basically steam cleaning your engine, all naturally though.

Why would seafoam raise the temperature, you need to stop posting and search more.

Seafoam is not going to give you any huge power gains

in my mustang, my hatch, a buddies accord, and my brother-in-law's 140,000mile escort, worked well as far as idle, and smoother acceleration. it removes all the carbon buildup etc inside the intake and in the head. 90blackcrx is correct, you wont see any power gains, but as for better idle and smoother idle, this is true. i havent seen anything bad come from it, nor heard anything bad from it. just follow the instructions.

EDIT: and all the damn green and underlined words is driving me up the wall

If it isnt broken, don't fix it. I've heard good and bad about seafoam. I for one wouldn't let it touch my car with 205k. -Shrugs-

i seefoamed my 175K CX motor (I dunno why either)
nothing really happened, its cleaner though. Technicaly, if it cleans your pistons well, you can lose power. Cleaning off the carbon build up will lower compression.

all seafoam is a decarbonizer and if used properly it is not going to hurt anything
