what the hell is it this time?????
alright well about a week or two ago my dizzy went out and i just got the car('91 hatch w/ z6) back on the road a few days ago... cars been running great since then... well i stopped by at work to drop something off and when i went to start it up it cranked a little longer than it had been before it fired up... i get on the road and it starts acting like the rev limit is at 3500... ive had this problem on and off and i think it might be my tps but im not sure... anyways i take it home and reset the ecu to see what happens... and while i had the car at operating temp i decided to clean the motor out by spraying carb cleaner in it and letting it sit for about 15 minutes... ive been told that it helps clean **** off the top of the valves and such... go to crank it up and it takes a while as expected but starts up with a cloud of white smoke from the carb cleaner... take it for a test drive and it has no more problems with getting past 3500 rpm... its running smoother and even feels like it has a little more power to it... get home and go to start it back up a few minutes later and nada... it just cranks and cranks... i know im getting spark and the fuel pump is priming... after cranking it over for a while i smell gas... but i dont see any leaking in the engine bay and theres nothing under the car
... it only seems to do this when the car is warmed up... so now that youve been reading for an hour and a half any ideas? thanks for any suggestions

3. fuel pump is priming
4. car starts up a little rough at first when cold but not at all when warmed up

oh and after a while of driving the CEL came on... threw codes 2 and 17 which is second O2 sensor and VSS... i dont have either of those and im not supposed to either i believe... just an idea but do you guys think that there could still be some carb cleaner in there and it just needs to get completly cleared out of the motor? thanks again guys

the z6 has only one O2 sensor and mine is pretty new... and ive switched main relays and same thing... now it seems like the car is running rich and isnt making the amount of power that she should be... any more ideas? maybe its a map sensor... is there any way to clean those out?
