Default 1999 accord vtec v6 automatic tranny q's

My tranny on my 99 v6 vtec accord has been jerking for a while. Now its gotten really bad and i cant drive it anymore. I have around $1300 to use to fix it, but i was wondering if there was another accord tranny from another year I could find that might fit in my car? Or what manual tranny might fit and work in my car without any problems? What is the engine code for the 99 vtec v6's. I tried searching it but the page i saw only went up to 1997. Thanks

The engine is a J30a, i belive or something like that. Any tranny from a J Series engine should bold right up. You can swap a 6speed from the CL-S, but thats a headache and a half.

HOW MANY MILES ARE ON YOUR CAR? IT SHOULD STILL HAVE A WARRANTY ON THE TRANNY, UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOT OF MILES ON IT. AND EVEN SO, YOU COULD GO TO HONDA AND THEY COULD PROBABLY GET AMERICAN HONDA TO WARRANTY IT.

Like you said, i'll repeat without capitals.

Honda has extended the warranty to seven years or 100,000 miles on 2000-2001 Accord transmissions. I believe if the problem is similar in your car and you bitch a fit, they'll give you the warranty work.

if you are lucky they might go a few thousand over 100K and that is only if you can show a history of a problem that started before 100K
