Default ** LS/Vtec Questions ** Dowels, studs, etc

Ok, so I have a B16 head to put on an LS bottom end. This will be my first LS/Vtec so I have a few things I want to get straight.

First off, most of my info is coming from this how-to -> http://www.c-speedracing.com/h...c.php

I plan to use the second method of dowel relocation and a factory LS head gasket as described here:

"The second method to relocate the dowel pins is simpler. On the intake side of the head there are two locations on the left and right that are good for putting the dowel pins. All that is required using this method is that you resize the holes to fit the dowel pins. The LS headgasket already has the correctly sized holes, therefore there is no need to modify the headgasket."

Is this method along with GE dowels to avoid milling the best approach?

Also I need to know my best choice for head bolts/studs .....

TIA

the best way to do the conversion is to get the Golden Eagle conversion kit minus the sandwich oil feed - they tend to leak. I would just tee the feed line in where the oil sending unit goes and use the rest of the GE kit for the conversion.

I have done quite a few LSVTEC conversions and this was by far the easiest way to do it. I have done it every way that you can imagine and it works great.
