tranny play?? is this normal what are some tranny inspection methods???

o.k with the tranny off the engine, the shaft, when turning it clockwise then counter clockwise, you can hear/feel play in between the gears, but everything shifts ok, should i install this tranny this way cause my current LS one knocks (bad bearings)...

Look in the helms. Theres specs for all that.

you mean you can hear play when you move the input shaft back and forth? thats normal

You should be able to spin the input shaft back and forth maybe 1/8th of an inch at max. What you feel is normal. Now... if it's side-to-side movement then you might be fooked.
