this is a vid of a civic hitting Vtec on a dyno. when it hits Vtec, it gets so god damn loud! NOTE: this thing IS 547 WHP and it IS FI but this is my question:

is it really that loud when you hit Vtec or is it just this particular set-up?

just the set-up every car is different.... some it's quiet some it's loud depends on things like airintake, cams and shiznat

 

this one is a damn beast!

 

its loud but have to remember this was also done in a room so everything is echoed

 

but its still compared to the motor running without Vtec

Yeah, VTEC in my H22 civic is decently loud. I did notice it waay more when i put a short ram on. A friends B16 sounds meaner than mine at the VTEC crossover still. It all has to do with your setup. Nice vid though.

 

My friends car with a B16A2 is loud as hell. He has Type-R cams and ALOT of ****.

b16 VTEC is crazy loud.. i was watchin this video of a hatch with a b16 in it on a dyno with stage 3 skunk2 cams and ITBs and it screamed in VTEC .. like crazy loud ..

 

That VTEC in the video is loud but I have seen/heard way louder. My almost stock B16A with just SRI and header was louder than that. And there is a video on here with a motor with JUN stage III cams thats insanely loud.

 

I love how at like 11 seconds in, you can hear the turbo spooling up...sounds ridiculous. Yeah, but anyways, my H22 is quite obnoxious with the Crower camshafts, especially when you run around town at 2:30 AM with a straight piece of 2.5 inch pipe and no muffler to **** everyone off.

 

i have earplugs in my car to protect my hearing from that loud vtec sound ...

Seriously. Everyone's going nuts about hearing that average-sounding VTEC. The real star in that vid is the sound of that turbo spinning at hundreds of thousands of RPM.

my car its loud, but not as loud as my open wastgate lol, the wastegate is so loud i cant hear the turbo or my BOV, i can hear vtAKE b4 just alil bit after wastegate opens

 

The vtec switch in my s2000 is pretty loud, you can really hear (and feel) it. However in a sohc/vtec you cant really tell much.

wow, that wasnt loud at all. i was expecting way worse. when vtec kicks in for me, its loud, but not INSaNELy loud. and i have a built gsr in a 92 hb si, with no cat and a straight through 2.5" pipe...

wow that was pretty weak VTEC i was expecting Guile to come in and be like SONIC BOOOOOOM but yeah, my B16A2 with SRI/stock exhaust/ricer axleback sounds meaner than that. a lot deeper too. that thing sounds like an electric toothbrush
