93 Honda Accord SE Eng. light came on,died, could not re-start,had to tow home
This had happened a few times and I would put my key in slot by gear shift lever and it would start. This time it would turn over but not start.Towed home and it did start..Checked all fluids.Eng. oil good,auto-trans to low mark, radiator not overheating by guage.Any help would be appreciated.Tony
check to see if your ECU was throwing any codes the ECU is loctaed under the carpet on the passenger side floor board!... if the LED isnt flahing any codes...u will have to jump the wire which then will flash u any codes that are saved to the ECU remember if you have to jump the wire then the Codes will be flashed where your check engine light is at (long flash =10 short flash =1 i.e 4 long flashes and 3 short flashes = 43) but just off the top of my head sounds like a main fuel relay!
BTW if u do ever get stuck like that again....just fpr ***** and giggles open your driver side door and bang on the flat area where the dash meets the door... while the car is turning over and your banging if u feel it try to start then u know its ur main fuel relay!
Don't have an owners manual and pushing buttons and stuff is what my knowledge is of this car.If I can get a clue as to what might be wrong maybe I can fix it.Lithics suggested the main fuel relay and it sounds logical because of my knowledge of relays when they break down under load and then work again when cool. The S light?I got no clue.
I will look at the ECU and see what I can do and hopefully my knowledge will be enough.Do you have to reset it and how?The part about the door was cool and sometimes this car acts like it is haunted. The fuel relay is excellent;Thank you,Tony
First do a self diagnosis test to see what code your ecu threw, then check the main relay but you said you don't have the manual. but start with checking the code first, I just got my car running off the same problem but I had a short which fried a couple other componets, also check if you are reciving fuel from the pump. Good Luck man electrical problems are a bitch....
