Balance shaft seal... oil pouring out..... HELP
..... I did search and was reading about how other H-T members had the same issue. I still have a few additional questions. I have a 93 accord auto with roughly 80k on the used jdm f22 motor.
I had not changed the oil for about 5 months with about 8,000 miles. Yesterday my wife drove it home and notice the oil light was flickering. So i told her to drive it home. I though it was just lack of oil. I did oil change and found out i had less than 1qt of oil in the motor.
I fill up motor with new oil & filter. When I started it & let it run for 20 sec or so reving it up and down...oil stared pouring out of the bottom driver side (by the crank pully). So after reading on H-T archives I came to concolsion that it was the Balance Shaft Seal.
?????
- Is my block & motor still good?
- What should i expect to pay a shop as in labor & parts? (I just did my timing/water pump last year)
- How long would it take a to fix... (long as doing timing belt/water pump)?
- What parts do i need?

MOst likely it is the balancer shaft seal,, i have seen a lot of those pop out ..did u guys install a balancer shaft seal retainer when u did a timing belt???......... You need to remove lower t-belt cover to properly identify the source but a bet the bal shaft seal is popped out, if the t-belt is oil soaked install a new t-belt as well and make sure u install a bal shaft seal retainer if there wasn't one in
