Your asking what i think, so this is my opinion....

I'll spit on a torqueless B16... spend a lil more and get yourself a GSR motor, or build an LS VTEC... or spend a lot less and put a regular LS in there...

and if your really broke (like me) stick with the good'o SOHC...

either way good luck, but do what you want to do... Why do you need to know what everyone thinks... Search similar setups check their power and times, see if you like that, and MAKE YOUR OWN DECISIONS....

Well I've heard one, that is it possible and people swap them in all the time. Also they can be quite quick motors for a cheap price. Turbo it and that is the price of a GSR mostly so it's way better

Or you can buy a SOHC, semi build it, boost it, and spit on B16s...

You know what you want, In your opinion it is a better setup, and It is what you are looking for... Now Good luck and have fun...

Can you make some pretty decent power with a d16 though? for instance. say a d16y7, take it all down. rebuild with some performance parts. bore it out to maybe 1.8, if you could? then with a bigger cam setup.
+ you could do the mini swap to it also.
