Mines just to the left edge of the sign in the middle of the guage. But since the guage is very inaccurate, it might just be the calibration differences between them. You need an aftermarket guage to get a precise reading. All the guage tells you really is if your overheating.

Mine has always been just covering the left side of symbol in the middle of the guage, sometimes on hot summer days just short of half way. It was the same with my del sol VTEC. Sounds pretty normal to me. As long as the guage does not steadily rise as you drive it, I wouldn't worry about it. HTH.

Mine used to sit about 3/8, but when I switched to Mobil1 synthetic oil it now runs about 1/3 up.
I just did a therostat job and it was easy. I think my car runs better since the old thermo was old and sticky. My heater works better now and the car warms up faster and stays at a constant tempeture.
With my autometer oil temp and water temp gauges, they both run at 180 degrees when warm. in traffic it may rise close to 210 if the car isnt moving, but when the car moves it drops down to near 180
mine doesnt heat up when driving, it stayes at the first notch on the gauge, only when idle'ing it goes up 1/3, thats as hot as its ever been, i run mobil synthetic.
I have a 94 GS-R and the only time I have seen my temp gauge at the half way point was when my car was sitting there idling for about 30 minutes. But right when I get in and start driving it goes back down to almost the C mark. I have been meaning to get my thermostat replaced just to make sure nothing wrong, but I haven't had any problems.
