CRX carbon fibre sunroof. *PICS*
Sorry folks. Some company called JRBtech thought it to be a good idea to copy my write up to their site with pictures and all, thus leeching rediculous amounts of my bandwith.
Thanks you JRBtech for stealing my ******* bandwidth!

ok, since I've had so many questions requests and such into my sunroof, and a sunroof topic pops up every other week. This one is for the archives.
First things first:

So... I bought mine local to me.
It's single layer carbon fibre. It's flimsy as hell... but it won't ever rust again.
...wich is good if you live where I do. Installing is a bitch. But that's the price you pay for custom made parts. I had to modify the guide rails simply by opening up the holes, and re-aligning the rails. But every roof is different.
Mine didn't sit flush for ****, so I had to bend the brackets where the roof hinges and is attached at the front. As you can tell from the pictures, it's flush enough not to make wind noises.
I paid ~300ish for mine.
You will also need the rubber weather stripping from your old roof, or a new one, as well as the bracket that goes around and supports the weather stripping.
Hope this clarifies some things.

Looks nice man, im jealous. One question tho after looking at ur pic galleries. What did u do to your tailights to "tint" them. Im asking because i wanna tint my amber corners
. Thanks.
. Thanks.
I used something called "backlight paint". It's basically black glass stain. You'll also want to clearcoat it.
Like I said, a company local to me is selling it. I'm in Holland. If it's worth it, I might consider brokering a group buy.

does the rex have a different sized sunroof than the hatch?
did u use ur old wheather stripping? cuz it looks like the side facing the front of the car looks a little out of place...

can u use ur old panel on the new one so that it doesnt look so ugly from the inside?

Yes, you can use your old headliner panel. I used double sticky tape, and it fell off again because of the heat. I am fabricating a new one out of a carbonfibre sheet.
I used my old stripping, and you're right. It has 2 spots where it's not sitting right. I'm looking into that. Might push it back and glue it in place.
The carbon isn't as good as keeping noise out as metal is. But I'm gonna use some insulation. That should fix it.

I bought one of those carbon fiber sunroof panels off of ebay like a year ago...
I had the same problem of it not sittin flush...On mine it dips down the the center a little (it dosnt quite curve with the roof completely)...but it dosent look bad, and it wont ever rust
Im having the bodyshop shoot on a nice coat of clear on it.
Hopefully my car will be outta the bodyshop this week...Ill be posting up pics soon of everything...Keep a lookout for "Kandy" in the title

Well, on mine the curve is about right.
But eventho there's clearcoat on mine, you can tell by th ereflections on the roof that it's just not as smooth as a stock roof would be.
