Pulsing Power Locks
Hey Folks. First, I enjoy reading all the posts since they are technically informative and at times funny!
My locks do this pulsing thing after I arm or start my car since my clifford auto locks when I turn the ignition. I ve heard from friends that I need to check the power lock wiring system for any loose and poor wiring connections.
My question is this: Of the power lock wiring system. Where are the power lock control unit and the lock soleniods located? From working on my car I have never come across these devices. Yeah I have and read the schematic on it, and I think these devices are in the driver side door somwhere. This has happened recently with more frequency and its beginning to kill me.
Any comments and advice would be nice. My cars 95 coupe, ex if that helps. Peace.

Hasn't it always done this? These alarm systems, mostly made by DEI, have a programmed option to let the door locks pulse two, three, or four times. It seems redundant, but its' actually for certain cars like mercedes that require multiple pulses to activate the locks. Another programmed feature is auto-locking the doors when the ignition is on. For security purposes.
Are you saying that it pulses randomly while you're driving? If not, then I would leave it alone, or download the manual online and un-program these features.

No this is not normal. I seems like the locks are wanting to lock and so you can hear click-click, and so on. Until it ends after about ten to fifteen seconds. And it only happends during an arming/ disarming and when the ignition is activated. Again it ends (the pulsing of the locks) ten or so seconds. Its weird and difficult to explain but trust me. It cant be a the alarm since had it checked out ( by a clifford certified shop), thinking it was the alarm. Dead end there.

If it's not your alarm system screwing up, I would suspect a bad door lock actuator.
