I want to cut down my 1995 Accord automatic shift shaft. I want it to be just tall enough so that the **** is above the plastic instead of 6 inches tall like it is now. My question is, what happens with the spring release for the lock button if I jsut cut the shaft with a hacksaw? Will it lock in place or will it move freely? Anyone have any experience with this let me know! Do I need to re-engineer the insides of the shifter? is this a simple job or something that is more trouble than it is worth. Thanks for the input!!!!
ive also wanted to do this for my 97 se, although i will be swtiching to manual sooner or later, this would be nice to have the auto choped down, so its not so high.
i know for a fact that there is a write up somewhere bc i saw it yesterday. cant remember where so just keep searching. its detailed with all the instructions you need.
